  1. This screen must be completed before advancing to Journal Entry. A Batch
  2. Number must be assigned to all Journal Entry Batches. It can be any number
  3. between 1 and 9999 but must not have been used before.
  4.  
  5. VALID OPTIONS - Accept/Modify/Quit.
  6. ACCEPT - Select "A" to Accept the Default Batch Number
  7. MODIFY - Select "M" to enter a new Batch Number then "A" to Accept it.
  8.  
  9. BATCH NUMBER - Enter the Journal Entry Batch Number. A New Batch Number will
  10.   generate the message "New Batch".
  11.  
  12. BATCH DATE - No entry required. System date is displayed so that you can see
  13.   the Period into which you are entering transactions.
  14.  
  15. ERROR MESSAGES -
  16. "Not a Journal Entry Batch" - The number entered has already been assigned to
  17.      another batch type.
  18. "Batch Closed" - The number entered has already been assigned to a closed
  19.      batch.
  20.  
  21. SCREEN PROMPT (When "Q"uitting) "CLOSE BATCH Y/N" - "Y" closes the batch
  22.      prohibiting further modifications. "N" allows the batch to remain open.
  23.
